Overview
EMI countermeasures is getting important due to vehicle electrification. Especially in power supply systems, increasing the switching frequency for miniaturization (such as miniaturization of transformers and reduction of peripheral component size) is a trade-off with generated noise. Texas Instruments Active EMI filter IC : TPSF12C3-Q1 has the feature to detect and cancel common-mode EMI, to achieve low EMI, and to achieve system miniaturization by halving the size of conventional choke coils.
LTEC released two reports (1) Die overview analysis report (2) Circuit analysis report(Extract main path).
.
Product characteristics
- Equipped with active EMI filters to realize low EMI for in-vehicle system and industrial equipment
- By detecting the common mode EMI and operating to cancel the EMI in the opposite phase waveform, the common mode EMI is reduced by up to 30 dB. It is possible to reduce the size of the choke coil to half the size of the conventional one.
- Common mode choke coil inductance is reduced by up to 80%
- Die size: 1.99mm X 1.15mm, Number of metal layers: 3 Al
