Overview
INN3949CQ-TL, released by Power Integrations (PI) in February 2022, is an automotive flyback converter IC with a built-in 1700V withstand voltage SiC JFET. PI utilizes its patented FluxLink technology to adopt SiC JFET in a “unique” SiP configuration. This IC is used for power supplies in vehicle subsystems such as traction inverters, emergency power supplies (EPS), DC/DC converters (APM) from high voltage
to low voltage, battery management systems, and vehicle chargers.
Product features
- Model Number: INN3949CQ-TL Series Name 「InnoSwitch3-AQ」
- Product Release Date: February 2022
- Automotive flyback converter IC
Report Contents (64 pages)
This report reveals the structure and implementation of PI’s INN3949CQ product, a high-integration system-in-package (SiP) product that incorporates a 1700V SiC JFET and primary and secondary side control ICs.
- Package and mounting technology
- Structural analysis of the SiC JFET die
・Die observation (Die photos, layout, size, structure)
★Identification of the JFET (manufacturer, model number, etc.) and its correlation with electrical characteristics (BVdss)
- Low-voltage Si MOSFET: Die photos, size, cross-section (number of metal layers)
- Control IC: Die photos, size, cross-section (number of metal layers), process node
A normally-on SiC JFET is used.
The process node is estimated from the Gate Pitch and contact diameter of the control IC.
