 In June 2023, Allegro MicroSystems announced the power-through isolated gate driver (AHV85110). AHV85110 is a single-channel isolated GaNFET gate driver IC, and its main feature is that it uses a magnetic core transformer as the built-in isolation element.
This ensures a durable insulation voltage of 5kVRMS.
Additionally, the power supply for gate drive is generated internally, eliminating the need for an external bootstrap circuit.
Allegro says that the driver reduce the noise by 10 times and common mode capacitance by 15 times compared to other solutions on the market. Ir is joint development with Transform Inc.
