Extracted from the web | Equipped Inverter Appearance | Equipped Gate Drive Substrate |
Overview
- The Porsche Taycan is the company’s first electric vehicle (EV), launched in Europe at the end of 2019 (and in Japan from September 2020) with a price of approximately 12.3 million yen.
- The installed inverter is manufactured by Hitachi Astemo (formerly Hitachi AMS). While Audi e-tron also uses an inverter from the same company, the Taycan’s system supports a battery voltage of 800V (compared to Audi’s 450V). The installed IGBT withstand voltage has been increased from 700V (used in Audi) to 1200V (used in Taycan).
- This report focuses on circuit analysis of the board responsible for inverter control and gate driving.
Product Features
- Drive System: EV with four-wheel drive and two permanent magnet synchronous motors.
Maximum output: 240kW/326PS (with an overboost output of 300 kW/408 PS). - The inverter (INV) is slim and mounted on top of the motor, directly connected to the motor using metal bus bars.
- The power module includes Hitachi Astemo’s IGBT module (rated at 1200V).
- LG Energy Solution provides the lithium-ion battery (capacity: 79.2kWh) installed under the floor, resulting in a range of 354–431 km.
Report Contents (42 pages)
