Summary

By the end of December 2022, the Chinese government’s subsidies for New Energy Vehicles (NEV) came to an end. As a result, in 2023, the sales of hybrid vehicles, which had lower body prices than Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and received less subsidy, increased.
The analysis in question focuses on the hybrid SUV “Macchiato DHT PHEV” from Great Wall Motors’ WEY brand. This vehicle, equipped with an inverter, was released in November 2021, with prices starting from approximately ¥16.68 ten thousand (equivalent to ¥3.3 million at a rate of ¥19.9 per yuan).
