Overview
- The Nissan Ariya, a crossover electric vehicle (EV), was released in 2022 (starting at 5.39 million yen).
- Unlike the mainstream Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) commonly used in EVs, the Ariya employs a Wound Field Synchronous Motor (EESM). This system was developed by Nissan in collaboration with Renault, based on the motor technology used in the Renault ZOE.
- The rotor excitation board for the wound field magnetic rotor consists of two boards: the drive board and the power board. This report provides circuit analysis for both boards.
